Кто первый придумал бабл-ти?

It is not yet possible to establish exactly one "first inventor": the generally accepted version connects the bubble with Taiwan in the 1980s, but two tea chains are arguing for the championship.

Taichung version of Chun Shui Tang: The network claims that in 1986, its team experimented with iced tea, and in 1987, employee Lin Xu-hui added tapioca balls to iced tea with milk. The network itself calls the founder of the idea Liu Han-jie and the place of invention its store in Taichung: the official story of Chun Shui Tang.

Hanlin Tea Room version from Tainan: Founder Tu Zonghe says he saw white tapioca balls at Yamullao Market in 1986 and decided to add them to milk tea.

Both networks were sued for authorship, but neither received an undisputed patent or trademark right to the beverage itself. The historical review also points to a broader version: tapioca balls were already used in Taiwanese desserts and night markets, so the drink could have originated as a collective culinary innovation rather than a single eureka moment: Taipei Times.

The most accurate answer: Bubble-tea originated in Taiwan in the mid-1980s; Chun Shui Tang and Hanlin Tea Room have competing claims, but there is no historically confirmed single inventor.
