AIKI node
An open node you can run yourself
AIKI is an open project with open source code. This site is one running node. You can start another instance of your own.
Run your own instance
The short path is a local trial. It is an outline, not a full operations guide.
- Install Node.js 22 and Docker Compose.
- Clone the public repository: github.com/opnwiki/aiki-server
npm run setup:local— this creates a private local .env and will not overwrite one that already exists.docker compose up --build -d— this builds the site, starts PostgreSQL, and applies the database migrations.- Open the site and create the first account. That person becomes the owner of the new node.
Read the repository README before using a node for anything beyond a local trial.

Public backup
Download a JSON archive of every published article and question on this node. Discussions, comments, accounts, and votes stay out of this file.
The file holds up to 2000 pages. It is a public copy of those pages, not a dump of the private database. It records the version of this node, where the export came from, and when it was made. Your own articles, questions, discussions, and comments can be exported and imported from your account.
